Peter Redward

Redward Associates Limited was founded by Peter Redward in October 2011. Prior to founding Redward Associates, Peter was Head of Emerging Asia research at Barclays Capital. Based in Singapore, Peter was responsible for a team of 19 economists and strategists covering economics, sovereign credit, fixed income and foreign exchange for Emerging Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Under Peter's leadership, the team at Barclays Capital was voted number one for three consecutive years (2009-11) by clients in the FinanceAsia Fixed Income Survey. Peter's team also achieved top rank in the Bloomberg survey of FX forecasters and the UK-based Elenora survey of dedicated emerging market fund managers.

Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Peter was employed as an emerging market portfolio manager at Citadel Investment Group (Europe). Based in London, Peter traded fixed income, sovereign credit and foreign exchange products across the emerging world, but with a primary focus on Emerging Asia. Between 1998-2005, Peter was employed by Deutsche Bank AG as an economist and foreign exchange strategist in Auckland, Singapore and London, being promoted to Head of EMFX Strategy in 2004. While at Deutsche Bank AG in Singapore, Peter helped develop the Bank's successful Singapore dollar NEER product, worked closely with the business in re-internationalizing Malaysian ringgit product and was an early proponent of the recovery in Indonesia.

Peter began his professional career as an economist at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (1995-98), where he was employed in a variety of policymaking and forecasting roles including a secondment to the Bank of Finland (1996). Peter has a Master of Philosophy (Hons) degree in economics from the University of Auckland (1995) and a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics degree from Massey University (1993). Peter resides in Auckland, New Zealand, with his wife Donna, son James, and three dogs.
